I own an empty house. Do I have to register it immediately?

A building generally becomes a Vacant Building under the bylaw after it has remained unoccupied for 90 consecutive days. Once it meets the definition, the owner must register it within the timelines established by the bylaw. Owners of buildings that already met the definition when the bylaw came into force have 60 days from the effective date of the bylaw to register.
